I am so excited to introduce you to all of my Incredible quilters that tested Pinwheel Star. It is so incredible to see something I designed being created but such talented individuals. I have enjoyed getting to know each one of these talented testers and would love for you to get to know them as well. Even better get to see the amazing quilts they created.
Chriarra of @photos.by.chiarramay pattern tested a Baby size of Pinwheel Star. I love the blue pinwheels with a pop of yellow in the pinwheels and the white stars. How cute is the kitty on the quilt? So cute! Chiarra, I hope you get to work through some WIP piles. I know mine never seems to stop growing. I have a million new ideas and quilt color combos with each quilt I design. Check out Chiarra on Instagram here.
Where do you live? Houston, Texas
How long have you been quilting? Since right before the beginning of the pandemic.
Why do you pattern test? To broaden my skills and learn new techniques and to get plugged into the quiltiverse. :)
What do you love about Pinwheel Star? While I struggled with it at first (and my quilt is FAR from perfect) I actually really liked the precision of this quilt - the way the blocks and lines would line up just so when done correctly. I also liked that it lends itself to using my stash and scraps. I love a good scrappy quilt! I also now own a quarter-square triangle ruler and am enjoying learning to use it!
What was your inspiration or colors used for Pinwheel Star? I love blue and blue and yellow combos. I had a lot of smaller blue fabric squares and went into my LQS with my idea and they helped me pick out several P&B fabrics to complement what I already had in my stash.
What is one quilting goal you have? One quilting goal is to improve my machine quilting skills and work through my ever-growing WIP pile of gift quilts in time for next Christmas.
